A PERSONAL MESSAGE FROM JON

March 2006

At Christmas, I vowed I was going to update things, then out-of-town relatives arrived and the holidays just flew by. I worked quite a bit in January - tell you about that in a minute - and then flew off to an amazing tropical adventure in Panama. Anyway, I have so much to tell you; let's get started.

First, some exciting news: a lovely woman named Colleen Paige has created National Dog Day: August 26, 2006. Her goal is to save the lives of 10,000 dogs annually on that day. She will hold a parade and festival in a different city each year and this year - the first year - the event is in New York. I have been invited to be the Grand Marshall! It's going to be a great day. Check it out at: http://www.nationaldogday.com

Late last summer, my wife Laurie and I began making light, 5-minute videos about what's going on in the dog and cat world for a Purina-sponsored website called: http://www.snoutsinyourtown.com  If we aren't the featured vid of the week, check out the archives section for: Have Dog…Will Travel which stars our beagle, Barney, CFA cat show, Dirty Dog, http://www.dogcatradio.com and Greg Louganis. We interviewed Greg with his Jack Russell at an agility trial in January. He's the best diver in the world. No one's come close to his records and he is the most modest man. Terrific guy. And dogcatradio.com! What great people the founders, Adrian and Eddie are. This is an on-line radio station for pets (ok and their people too) and 5 continents are listening! You have to check them out. I think you can tell I've really enjoyed this job.

As I said, in February, we went to Panama courtesy of our dear friend Mike Lanigan at Mi-Jack Products. Mi-Jack owns the Panama Canal Railway which they've recently restored in time for its 150th anniversary. To celebrate, they brought a gang of us kid actors and a gang of their friends to Panama City for 4 of the best days of our lives. They left no stone unturned showing us the sites: the rainforest, the canal and, of course, the train. Tony Dow, Tim Considine, Stan and Barry Livingston, Billy Gray and a bunch more - the same gang from the Indy 500 pics on earlier pages. Check out the Panama pictures on my RECOLLECTIONS PAGE. As usual, I'll have a lot of other photos up there too.

More exciting news: In June, Laurie and I will be at AUTOGRAPHICA - a collectibles show in London! I hope my UK fans will come out to meet me. While there, I plan to see Jon Shepodd who played my first dad on "Lassie" (and Cloris Leachman played my mom). Of course I'll put those photos up when I return. If any of you would like to send me messages to take to Jon, please write me at: jon_provost@juno.com. I'll deliver them. In between, I'll be in Phoenix (with June Lockhart) and Detroit and shortly after, in Memphis and Reno. Check out my APPEARANCE SCHEDULE page for the 411!

And the most exciting news of all is that I plan to have my autobiography TIMMY'S IN THE WELL out for Christmas. We still have a great deal of work to do, but that's our goal. More news about this VERY soon.

Wow, I've got a busy year ahead. My kids are great. Ryan is 22 and Katie 20. Not sure how that happened, but they are out on their own making their way in the world. I'm so proud of them both. Laurie and I will celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary this month and are annoyingly happy. Friends, life is good. I wish the same for all of you.

Best always,

Jon
